Test 5/06 - Samoa Sister Cities, 8hr Title Sequence

An experiment with After Effect's 3d feature and Illustrator's gradient mesh feature, this title sequence for the KOCT public access television coverage of Oceanside's Samoan Sister Cities Days. Constructed and animated in under 8 hours.

Test 2/06 - Magic World

Two days of footage, two different seasons, combine in a collection of images that show some of the magic found in desolation. Originally shot with meloncholia, took on a lighter tone after editing. Staring me and my surroundings, mixed with Eels' Magic World (no premission granted, sorry).

Test 11/05 - Hello from Roanoke, Virginia

A friend from college is teaching English to children in Japan, and asked people in the US to share something with them for Christmas. In an effort to show what life is like for me, in both surroundings and mood, this unfiltered collection of images and thoughts is my item. Featuring Morning Hollow by Sparklehorse (no permission granted).

Test 4/05 - Sea of Teeth

Filmed on the fly, out the window of the car, this test was to see how altering time, color and light to develop a dreamy feeling, accompanied and inspired by Sparklehorse's Sea of Teeth (no permission granted).

Test 6/05 - Farmer clip

A short experiment aimed at exploring FCP's Magic Bullet plugin, retiming, and trying to replicate a 16mm feel. The music, public domain, is Mississippi John Hurt's Stack-O-Lee Blues.

Test 7/05 - Org Hauntings

With 30 min of footage captured in an abandoned church in LA, these tests explored layering, hazing, and blending images to bring out some of the strange feel inside this building. Video 2 features Sparklehorse's Sad and Beautiful World (sorry, permision not acquired). More to come.
